Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 amβ11 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (847) 214-1708. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, pourhousekitchen.com.

The pizza recipe is not the same as before, and I wish I had known before ordering. This was the biggest food downgrade I have experienced. What I loved most about the old pizza was the crispy, slightly burnt cheese around the edges, the sauce drizzled on top, and the copious amount of cheese that practically spilled over the sides. There was no place that did it quite like this. On the new pizza, the cheese doesn't even reach the edge. There was barely any sauce. The crust reminded me of the kind you get with a "rising" frozen pizza crust, like it had been pre-cooked. The slices were only about half as thick, and there was very little flavor overall. I know the previous recipe had a lot to live up to, so despite my shock, I genuinely tried to go into this with an open mind and give the new pizza a fair chance. Unfortunately, it just was not good. If this was a matter of cost, I honestly would have been willing to pay more to keep the original recipe. I would much rather pay a little more for a pizza I already know and love than have the recipe changed so significantly to the point it's unrecognizable. I really hope you consider bringing back the previous Detroit-style recipe.

The food saved this review..they serve Bari beef from South Elgin my favorite beef supplier. Ordered their Garlic beef dip sandwich ( downfall needs some more beef for a 16 dollar price) the sauce needed more horsey ) that meal concept is outstanding but needs to be tweaked and make it what your Famous for! and their elote nuggets were great , blt was good , bacon was done right. Scoop fries are a nice crispy touch. The bbq bacon burger was decent alittle too wet to hold though. Service was typical, new waitress did a decent job, Atmosphere was a strip mall restaurant not much you can do with that without spending alot . Tables were tacky to touch....overall definitely be back. Thanks Ramnu Reviews

Dined in on a Saturday night. Went here because reviews were like a 4.9 out of 5. Not sure how though. I dont like spending money on food when its not that good. There was only one family there and about 5 or 6 people at the bar. The staff were friendly however the server took way too long to come back and take our order after we got water. Then only came back once to check on us. I had the Cuban. That was the worst cuban I have had in my life. No flavor/seasoning and the ham was grilled lunch meat. Couldn't even finish half the sandwich. Big chunk of fat in the middle. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger which was decent to me but he didnt like it. The pretzel sticks with mustard sauce was the best. That was the only thing I did enjoy. My mother had the cajun shrimp parmesan pasta which was OK. More like mac n cheese with shrimp thrown on top. I would not order it again but it wasn't horrible. I will not go back from this experience.

We came here for the Motherβs Day brunch and really enjoyed the experience. The buffet-style setup was well done and offered a nice variety of options, making it easy for everyone to find something they liked. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and consistently good, especially considering how busy it was for a holiday brunch. The atmosphere was lively and festive, which felt appropriate for Motherβs Day, but it was still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the meal. The buffet was kept stocked and organized, and the overall flow worked well without long waits or chaos.Service throughout the restaurant was friendly and attentive, and staff did a great job keeping things running smoothly while checking in and clearing plates. It made the experience feel easy and enjoyable rather than rushed.Overall, it was a great spot for a Motherβs Day celebration. Good food, a solid buffet selection, and a fun, welcoming environment made for a very pleasant brunch. We had a great time and would definitely consider coming back again.

Update 6/20/25: YAY you have Kegan now! He's a great bartender! Got the pizza again, so good. The fries are so different and really GOOD! Never change them. Loved the cocktails. Have Kegan take over the cocktails, he comes up with some really good ones! Will be back! Old Review: Very nice place, super friendly service. I loved the all meats Detroit style pizza, so doughy and yummy. The pot stickers were yummy with the red sauce, forgot the name but it was perfect. Drinks were good, except they had this fish bowl drink but no fish to make it. I was kinda bummed, seemed really cool. But that's ok, seems people mostly want beer when they come here. SO no biggie. I want to come back and get a different pizza.
